Dr. VK Shah is currently working as Interventional Cardiology at Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, S. R. Mehta Cardiac Institute Global Hospital, Fortis Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital.

Dr. VK Shah, completed his MBBS from Mumbai University, 1979 and MD in Medicine & DM in Cardiology from Mumbai University. He completed his Research Fellowship in Cardiology at University of Alabama, at Birmingham, USA, 1987-1988 and Clinical Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Charles Nicole Hospital, University of Rouen, France, 1996.

He is lifetime member of Lions Club of King Circle, Bidada Sarvodaya Trust, Mahavir Heart Foundation and Bhachau Foundation. For last 20 years organizing various lectures programs on various continuous medical education programs for practicing general practitioner, physicians , and cardiologist
Dr. VK Shah is a very active interventional cardiologist and has performed more than 15,000+ angiographies and 6000+ angioplasties (i.e.PTCA) per year individually. Extensively trained in stenting and has used all variety of stents while being trained in France at University of Rouen which is greatly known as high-volume Centre for Angioplasties.

Dr. VK Shah’s services to the people of this country has been consistently recognized by the society. He has been awarded many awards; G.D Sainani Oration award on “Novel Biomarkers for risk stratification in ACS”, Golden Citizen of India Award, Prof. D. P. Basu award in Cardiology, and B. Sivanthiadithyan Gold Medal in Cardiology in 1987.

Dr. VK Shah was honored with “Award of Excellence” personally for “Outstanding Contribution in the field of Cardiology in the World” on behalf of Organizing and Scientific Committee of World Congress on Clinical, Preventive, Geriatric Cardiology & Imaging (WCCPGCI)-2010. He was the Winner of 31st Singapore LIVE 2022 ONLINE Clinical Cases Competition (Call For) II – Complications: How to Overcome (Session 22), at NHCS Singapore LIVE 2022, on 23rd Nov-2021.

He has about 99 publications to his name, contributed his knowledge in 10 textbooks, 5 research papers, 44 paper presentations, and 22 presentations at conferences. For the last 30 years he has extensively contributed to the field of Acute Myocardial Infarction and has 26 publications on his name.
